Part 65 - The Battle 

‘Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.’ Ephesians 6:10-13

The reality of the Christian life is that we are in a battle. There is an enemy who opposes us and threatens to destroy us. But how often do we see that reality? I know for myself it is easy to forget that there is a war on, or even that there is an enemy.

But the Bible is clear, there is a struggle against the power of the devil. This is the great struggle in the Christian life, far exceeding the struggles we have against physical powers. He is a terrifying foe, but we are able to stand against him because we are equipped for the fight. We are able to stand strong, not by our own strength, but by the Lord’s mighty power.
